Terms of Service

Effective 3 November 2026

These terms cover LogTriage: the website and free tools at logtriage.app, the product at app.logtriage.app and the API at api.logtriage.app. LogTriage is an independent project ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you use LogTriage for an organization, you agree to them on its behalf.

1. The service

LogTriage reads log files, enriches them with threat intelligence, runs detections and writes security reports. When an analysis finds suspicious activity, part of the report is written by AI. The free tools on logtriage.app run in your browser and need no account.

2. Your account

You need an account to use the product, and you must be at least 16. Keep your password and API keys secret; you are responsible for what is done with your account. If you think someone else has used it, tell us at [email protected].

3. Your data

  • It stays yours. You keep all rights to the logs you upload and to your reports.
  • What you allow us to do with it. You allow us to store and process your uploads only to provide the service to you, as the Privacy Policy describes. That includes sending the suspicious events of an analysis to our AI provider, and indicators such as public IP addresses, file hashes and domains to threat-intelligence services.
  • What you are responsible for. Upload only logs you are allowed to process and to share with these service providers. Remove what you must not share, such as secrets in query strings, before you upload.
  • Uploaded files are deleted 7 days after the analysis, and you can delete any analysis once it has finished.

4. Acceptable use

Do not:

  • try to break, overload or get around the service's security or limits;
  • use the service to attack, scan or harm anyone, or to store or spread malware;
  • resell access to the service;
  • point the API or webhooks at systems you are not authorized to reach.

We may suspend accounts that do. If you find a security problem in LogTriage, report it to [email protected] instead of testing it further.

5. Reports are an aid, not a verdict

Reports, including the parts written by AI, can be incomplete or wrong. They support your investigation; they do not replace your judgment or a professional incident response, and a clean report does not prove that nothing happened. Check what matters before you act on it.

6. Plans, credits and payment

  • Free plan: 10 analyses a month of files up to 10 MB, with the standard AI analysis. The balance is refilled monthly; unused analyses do not carry over.
  • Paid plans are monthly subscriptions at the prices on the pricing page. Each payment resets your balance to the plan's monthly analyses; unused ones do not carry over. A plan renews until you cancel it, which you can do at any time from the billing page; it stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
  • Incident pack: a one-time purchase of 25 analyses for 19 US dollars. They do not expire, and they are used after your plan's analyses.
  • Paid features: a paid plan, and an incident pack while it has analyses left, add files up to 100 MB, the in-depth AI analysis of high-risk findings, and creating API keys and webhooks. An analysis paid for with the incident pack keeps them. Running the in-depth analysis on a report you already have uses no credits.
  • An analysis of a file under 10 MB uses 1 analysis credit, a file from 10 MB up to 50 MB uses 2, and a larger file uses 3. Credits are used only by analyses that complete; a failed analysis gives its credits back automatically.
  • Purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy, the merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy's terms for buyers also apply to your purchase, and taxes are added where required.
  • We will give at least 30 days' notice of a price change. The new price applies from your next billing period.

7. Refunds

  • If a subscription does not work for you, ask within 14 days of your first payment and we refund it.
  • An incident pack is refunded on request within 14 days of purchase if none of its analyses has been used.
  • Renewals are not refunded, but you can cancel before the next one.
  • Write to [email protected]. Refunds are paid through Lemon Squeezy to the original payment method. Where the law gives you a wider right to a refund, that right applies.

8. Availability and changes

We work to keep the service available, but we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or free of errors, and there is no service level agreement unless one is agreed in writing. We may change or remove features. If we close the product, we will give you at least 30 days' notice so you can download your reports.

9. Ending your account

You can stop using the service at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms; where the problem can be fixed, we will tell you first.

10. Free content and open-source releases

You may quote the website's text with a link to the page. The detection rules, the sample log dataset and the command-line tool on GitHub are published under the licenses in their repositories (MIT for the rules, CC BY 4.0 for the dataset, Apache 2.0 for the tool). Product and company names on the site belong to their owners.

11. Warranties and liability

The service, the free tools and the website are provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profits or lost data. Our total liability for all claims about the service is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.

12. Disputes

If something goes wrong, write to us first. Most problems can be solved that way. Nothing in these terms takes away the rights that consumer law where you live gives you.

13. Changes to these terms

We will post changes on this page with a new effective date, and we will email account holders about material changes before they apply.
